Mhairi Fleming
Mhairi qualified as a vet in 2004 from Glasgow University. Since then she has worked in practice around the UK but decided to settle in Edinburgh. She has also volunteered her time in many charity clinics and wildlife projects, mainly in Asia. She enjoys being a mobile vet as it allows her the time and space required to really get to know an animal and owner and allows case continuity that can sometimes be difficult in a traditional practice setting. She has an interest in geriatric medicine, ophthalmology and wildlife medicine. When not at work she spends time trying to keep her young family in order and walking her dog Cody.

Martha Murphy
Martha graduated in 2008 from Edinburgh University. She spent a few years in small animal practice before pursuing her special interest in feline medicine at an exclusively feline clinic, and completing a distance learning feline medicine certificate from the University of Sydney. While she adores all animals, she continues to nurture her interest in all things cat, and is passionate about reducing the stresses of veterinary care for her patients. Since 2016 Martha has loved working as a home visit vet to be able to get to know her patients in their own environment and form strong bonds with their owners too. In her spare time, with the help of her husband and three lovely stepdaughters, she enjoys tending to her own cats, as well as crochet & baking.

Julia Shaw
Julia graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2016. She likes all aspects of small animal medicine, and particularly loves cats. In her free time, Julia enjoys playing polo and taking her Ragdoll Niffler for walks.

Hannah Smith
Hannah qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2015. She enjoys all aspect of veterinary work with a particular interest in surgery. She is very sporty and has played rugby for Scotland and now plays touch rugby. and hockey. When not pursuing sports she spends time with her two black labradors and her French bulldog.

Sarah Nelson
Emma McLean
Emma is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who has been working in Edinburgh vet practices since 2001. Her passion lies particularly with cats and her main role with Vetkind is as cat whisperer and nurse to assist our vets treat the shelter cats at Edinburgh Cats Protection League. She also supports Vetkind behind the scenes, dealing with the day to day admin and processing insurance claims. In her free time Emma enjoys, creative crafts, beer festivals and chocolate.

Diane McQuillan
Diane is our wonderful Animal Care Assistant. You may see her for a visit to deal with long claws, grooming or health checks and she is often on the end of the phone too! When she is not busy at work she has her own dog, and two children to look after. She is also heavily involved in a local youth football team!
